Safety and Track Improvements Coming to the Hartford Line

Beginning Monday, July 18, 2022, Hartford Union Station will be undergoing several major renovations until  Friday, September 9, 2022.  As a result of these projects, substitute bus service will replace most of the Amtrak and CTrail trains along the Hartford Line during this period.

Additionally, Hartford Line train service will be replaced with substitute bus service on Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11

The renovations include replacing the roof on the historic platform canopy in Hartford Union Station, improving lighting on the boarding platform, and replacing gutters to improve drainage and prevent flooding. In addition, tracks in Longmeadow, MA will undergo a slope stabilization project and maintenance of their communication and signal system. With the completion of these two projects, riders will enjoy a safer and more efficient rail service and infrastructure.

Train fares will be collected on the substitute buses. Passengers are required to purchase a CTrail or Amtrak ticket to board the substitute buses.

We appreciate your understanding as we make these vital improvements.
