Opening Weekend of Hartford Line Attracted 21,850 Riders
On the opening weekend of the Hartford Line (June 16 and 17), the public displayed unprecedented excitement for the new rail service. Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that the CTrail Hartford Line attracted a total of 21,850 riders over the course of its two-day opening weekend of service. Stations were bustling with thousands of first-time passengers taking a ride traveling between New Haven and Springfield, and points in-between. Free service was offered throughout Fathers Day weekend. Station platforms were busy and CTrail Ambassadors were on-hand providing assistance and information about the new rail service.
