All Aboard! CTDOT to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new CTrail Hartford Line Meriden Station
Last fall, the new CTrail Hartford Line Meriden train station opened to the public. Join us to celebrate this new landmark! Everyone is encouraged to attend. Learn more about the new station, Hartford Line passenger rail service, and much more.
Speakers will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will include Governor Dannel Malloy and Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Commissioner James Redeker, among others. We encourage people to arrive by 11:15 a.m. for the best view. This event is free and open to the public. The new station is located at 60 State Street, Meriden, CT 06450.
Improvements at this new station location include high-level platforms on both sides of the tracks, as well as elevators, stairways, an overhead pedestrian bridge to cross the tracks, canopies covering approximately 50% of platform length, and surface parking for approximately 65 vehicles. Additional enhancements include platform snow melting systems, passenger information display system, security cameras, ticket vending machines and one two-car electric vehicle charging station.
